Orthodox priests built these monasteries in the early periods of Christianity to retreat and be closer to God, and they are listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This area, which was underwater millions of years ago, revealed these colossal rocks over time as the waters receded, and the priests constructed their monasteries on the highest points of the rocks. During the period they were built, there were no means of transportation to the top of the rocks, so the priests used to lift each other up to the monasteries via rope-made nets for years. After the tour, we move on to Yanya. Once we arrive in Yanya, we start our city tour. Yanya, the largest city in the Epirus region, is also known as the city of Tepedelenli Ali Pasha. Among the places we will see are the Aslanpaşa Mosque, Fethiye Mosque, Ali Pasha's Tomb, Byzantine Museum, and the Ottoman Castle. After the city tour, we provide free time.
