Located 70 Km southwest of Madrid, Toledo is undoubtedly one of the most important cities in Spanish history. Surrounded by the Tajo River and perched on the rocky hills enclosed by high walls, Toledo has always been a valuable city throughout history, from the Romans and Visigoths to the Kingdom of Spain. Additionally, Toledo was the center of Judaism until the late 15th century and is home to several significant structures, including the oldest synagogue still standing in Europe, dozens of churches converted from mosques, and the magnificent cathedral where Spain was religiously administered, making it a mosaic of three Abrahamic religions. Until the empire moved the capital to Madrid in 1561, Toledo was a political, cultural, commercial, and military center; Cervantes' immortal work "Don Quixote" was inspired by this city, with much of its story taking place here, and for all these reasons, Toledo is on the UNESCO World Heritage list. During our tour, we will see the famous viewpoint with a magnificent view of the city dating back to the 16th century, San Martin Bridge, San Juan Monastery, the Jewish Quarter, Santo Tome Church, Santa Maria Cathedral Square, the shopping street where you can find everything unique to Toledo, and the central Zocodover Square. The Alhambra Palace dominated the skies of Granada with its location and high walls with 37 towers. It took more than 150 years to build. However, what makes the Alhambra Palace the most visited place in Spain is more than just being a well-fortified military shelter. It is a palace where enjoyment was derived in its elegant courtyards, full of deadly intrigues, and at the same time, it is the largest and most beautiful example of Islamic architecture in the West. The stunning palace known for its innumerable inscriptions of "There is no victor but Allah" appears as if it came from the tales of 1001 nights, and it was unexpectedly lost to Queen Isabel by Sultan 12. Muhammad (Boabdil). It was declared the royal palace of the Spanish monarchy that year and the royal decisions that initiated Christopher Columbus' travels were made here.
