The Kremlin, where Russian President Vladimir Putin also has his office, contains the Cathedral of the Assumption, considered Moscow’s most important church since the 14th century, as well as the world’s largest bell. We will continue our tour with the Moscow Metro. Started by Stalin in 1931, the Moscow Metro, although today compared in size with the metros of New York, Paris, or London, is widely recognized as the most beautiful metro in the world in terms of interior architecture and decoration. Arbat Street, which runs through the center of Moscow, is a pedestrian street that everyone visiting the city stops by at least once and happily walks along from one end to the other. Here you can browse the colorful shop windows, taste the finest examples of Russian and world cuisine, sit in stylish cafés reminiscent of Paris, and most pleasantly of all, sit on a bench and watch the Russians who are carried away by the flow of life. If you want a souvenir from Moscow, this street is the right place. Afterwards, we will continue our tour with Nazım Hikmet’s grave. We will leave our hotel for a visit to Novodevichy Monastery, where Nazım Hikmet is also buried. One of Russia’s most important monasteries, Novodevichy was founded in 1524 and over time became the place where the stars of many would-be tsarinas faded. Although it was intended to be destroyed by Napoleon’s order in 1812, the nuns managed to prevent this decision. As part of the visit, we will pay our respects at Nazım Hikmet’s grave located within the monastery. After the tour, transfer to our hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
