Day 01 ISTANBUL AIRPORT – MOSCOW
We meet you, our valued guests, at Istanbul New Airport international departures terminal at 05:35, and after baggage and check-in procedures, depart for Moscow at 08:25 on Turkish Airlines flight TK 413. Arrival in Moscow at 12:25, and after being greeted at the airport, we depart by private vehicle for the “Moscow Panoramic City Tour.” On our panoramic Moscow city tour, the places we will see include the historic center of Red Square, which has witnessed political and social upheavals; St. Basil’s Cathedral, located here with its colorful onion-shaped domes; the Kremlin Palace; the Bolshoi Theatre; Tverskaya Street; Gorky Park; Novodevichy Monastery; Swan Lake; Luzhniki Stadium; Sparrow Hills; and finally Moscow State University, all to be seen panoramically. At the end of the tour, transfer to our hotel and free time.
DAY 02 MOSCOW
After breakfast at our hotel, free time. Guests who wish may join the extra tour of Kremlin Palace & Moscow Metro & Arbat & Nazım Hikmet’s Grave. The Kremlin, where Russian President Vladimir Putin also has his office, contains the Cathedral of the Assumption, considered Moscow’s most important church since the 14th century, as well as the world’s largest bell. We will continue our tour with the Moscow Metro. Started by Stalin in 1931, the Moscow Metro is considered by everyone to be the most beautiful metro in the world in terms of interior architecture and decoration, although today it may be compared in size with the New York, Paris, or London metros. Arbat Street, which runs through the center of Moscow, is a pedestrian-only road that everyone who comes to this city visits at least once and enjoys walking from one end to the other. Here you can browse the colorful shop windows, taste the finest examples of Russian and world cuisine, sit in stylish cafés that rival Paris, and most pleasantly, sit on a bench and watch Russians immersed in the flow of life. If you want a Moscow souvenir, this street is the right place. Then we continue our tour with the grave of Nazım Hikmet. We will leave our hotel for a visit to Novodevichy Monastery (where Nazım Hikmet is also buried). One of Russia’s most important monasteries, Novodevichy was founded in 1524 and over time became the place where the star of many tsar candidates faded. Although Napoleon ordered its destruction in 1812, the nuns managed to prevent this decision. During the visit, we will see Nazım Hikmet’s grave inside the monastery. After the tour, transfer to our hotel. Overnight at our hotel.
DAY 03 MOSCOW – ST. PETERSBURG (TRAIN JOURNEY)
After breakfast at our hotel, we check out of our rooms and transfer to the train station. After our train journey from Moscow to St. Petersburg, upon arrival we are met and depart by private vehicle for the “St. Petersburg Panoramic City Tour.” During the panoramic city tour, we will have the opportunity to see the streets where the finest examples of the world’s most famous architects and artists are exhibited, as well as the city’s historic and tourist sites. The famous Nevsky Prospect, featured in the books of renowned writers; the Old Harbor Lighthouses; the Mint; the Clock Tower; the Statue of Peter the Great; the Winter Palace; Palace Square; the Admiralty Building; and the cruiser Aurora are among the places to be seen. After our city tour, transfer to our hotel. Free time and accommodation at our hotel in St. Petersburg. At the end of the tour, guests who wish may join the “Russian Night Tour,” organized as an extra by our guide. You should not miss the opportunity to have dinner at Troika Restaurant, one of St. Petersburg’s finest restaurants, and watch magnificent dance shows. After the tour, transfer to our hotel. Overnight at our hotel.
DAY 04 ST. PETERSBURG
After breakfast, free time. Guests who wish may join the extra tour of “Hermitage, Peter and Paul, and Canal Tours.” The Hermitage Museum, located by the Neva River, contains approximately 4 million works from the tsarist period and is one of the largest museums in the world and in Russia. Because it has the largest collection of paintings, it is also listed in the Guinness Book of Records. Then, accompanied by a guide, we will see St. Petersburg from its canals and start our canal tour, reaching the Neva River. After the tour, we continue with Peter and Paul Fortress. Built by Peter in the 1700s, this fortress was the first structure erected in St. Petersburg and is located on the Neva River. The cathedral inside the fortress contains the tombs of the Romanov Dynasty. At the end of the tour, transfer to our hotel. Overnight at our hotel.
DAY 05 ST. PETERSBURG
After breakfast, free time. Guests who wish may join the optional “Peterhof and Pushkin Tsar Village Tours.” On this tour, we will have the opportunity to see the summer palace located in the Gulf of Finland, which Peter had planned himself and then had built by the Italian architect Rastrelli. This building, rivaling Versailles in Paris, is a magnificent palace complex adorned with 150 monumental fountains and 4 waterfalls. Although it suffered great damage during World War II, it has been restored true to its original architecture and magnificence. Then we will visit the park, palace, and building complex known as Tsar Village, built by Catherine in the 18th century. Covering an area of 600 hectares, the main building of this town is Catherine Palace. Although the Amber Room is extremely interesting, due to the heavy crowds especially in the summer months, it may not be possible for many tourists to visit it. In this famous town, where the nobility of the tsarist era met with the tsar family, there is also the school where the famous poet Pushkin studied. At the end of our tour, transfer to our hotel.
DAY 06 ST. PETERSBURG – ISTANBUL AIRPORT
After breakfast, free time. In the evening, transfer to the airport at the time determined by our guide. Upon arrival, passport and check-in procedures.
DAY 07 ST. PETERSBURG – ISTANBUL AIRPORT
Depart for Istanbul at 01:35 on Turkish Airlines scheduled flight TK 404. Arrival in Istanbul at 05:25 local time. Until we meet again on our next tour.
