Day 1 - ISTANBUL – SHANGHAI
Meeting at Istanbul Airport International Departures Terminal at 21:30. After passport, ticket, and customs procedures, we will depart for Shanghai on Turkish Airlines flight TK26 at 01:25. Overnight on the flight. Upon arrival in Shanghai at local time 16:45, we will transfer to our hotel. We will have dinner at the hotel as an open buffet. After dinner, you will have the opportunity for shopping on Shanghai's famous Nanjing Road and witness the enchanting night view of Shanghai adorned with lights. Then, we will transfer to our hotel for overnight stay.
Day 2 - SHANGHAI
After breakfast, we will visit the Shanghai Museum, one of China's best museums. Opened in 1996, this museum displays traditional Chinese arts and furniture, and also has souvenir shops. After the museum visit, we will continue our tour to the Bund area, known as Shanghai's window, located along the Huangpu River. After the tour, we will have dinner at a Uyghur restaurant. Following the Uyghur dinner at the restaurant, a boat trip on the Huang River will make our day unforgettable. Overnight at our hotel.
Day 3 - SHANGHAI - YICHANG – YANGTZE (Fast Train)
After breakfast, we will depart for Yichang by fast train. Following a comfortable journey of approximately 7 hours and 30 minutes, we will take a city tour of Yichang and have dinner. After that, we will transfer to our cruise ship. Overnight on the ship.
May 8 (Day 4) YANGTZE (Three Gorges)
Every morning on board, guests who wish can participate in Tai-Chi, a Chinese gymnastic exercise. After breakfast, our ship will moor at Yangjiawan Port after enjoying the magnificent views of the Three Gorges, passing by the eastern shore of the Xiling Gorge. Here, the Three Gorges Dam will be one of the places visited. After lunch on board, it will be an interesting experience for all of us to watch the ship's ascent using the lock system at Ge Zhouba. At 19:00, we will be welcomed with the 'Captain's Welcome Cocktail.' Dinner and overnight on board.
Day 5 - YANGTZE (Wu and Quatang Gorges)
After breakfast on board, we'll take small boats to explore the Shenong River. We will see historical sites and the coffins hanging on the vertical valley cliffs, and we will have the opportunity to learn about the local people's customs and traditions. In the afternoon, we will pass through the spectacular Wu and Quatang Gorges and will not be able to get enough of the views. Lunch and dinner, and overnight on board.
Day 6 - YANGTZE (Wanxian)
After breakfast, we will arrive in the city of Wanxian, located in the middle of our river journey. After touring this city, established during the Ming dynasty between 1368-1644, you can browse silk weaving and bamboo goods shops. Lunch and dinner, and overnight on board.
Day 7 - YANGTZE-CHONGQING-XIAN (Domestic Flight)
After breakfast, we will leave the ship at 09:00. Following a tour of Chongqing, we will transfer to the airport and depart for Xian around lunchtime. Upon arrival in Xian, we will visit the City Walls, which were reinforced by Zhu Yuanzhang, the first emperor of the Ming dynasty, to strengthen the empire. The wall is made of mud and rice, and it’s 13.7 km long. We will transfer to a restaurant for dinner. After dinner, we will transfer to our hotel for overnight stay.
Day 8 - XIAN – BEIJING (Fast Train)
After breakfast, we will visit the famous Terracotta Museum. It is one of the most important and magnificent archaeological discoveries of the 20th century. (This underground army of statues made to protect the tomb of China’s first emperor Shihuan is still being excavated, and only a part has been unearthed. This tomb and statues were included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1987.) The mosque and the Pagoda of the Tang Dynasty will also be among the places to be visited. After lunch, we will transfer to the train station for a pleasant journey to Beijing via fast train. Upon arrival in Beijing, we will transfer to our hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 9 - BEIJING
After breakfast, we will visit Tiananmen Square, the largest square in the world (covering an area of 40 hectares and capable of holding 500,000 people at once). Every day, the ceremony for raising and lowering the Chinese national flag takes place in the morning and evening, and the time for this ceremony changes daily according to the sunrise and sunset. Hundreds of people gather in the square daily to witness the ceremony. Next, we will explore the Forbidden City, the palace where 24 emperors of the Ming dynasty (1368 – 1644) and the Qing dynasty (1644 – 1891) lived. Named after its restriction to ordinary citizens for five centuries, this palace has not been used since the last Chinese emperor Puyi was ousted in 1911. We will visit the Panda House, where we can observe the natural lives of China’s national symbol, the lovely Panda. Then, we will see the Summer Palace, built in the 19th century near an artificial lake, which is connected to the Forbidden City by a canal for the emperor’s convenience. Following the palace tour, we will enter the Old Imperial Pharmacy next to Tian Anmen Square to learn about traditional Chinese medicine. After this tiring day, we will relieve ourselves with a famous Chinese foot massage lasting approximately 45 minutes. We will end this beautiful day with dinner in a restaurant featuring Peking Duck on the menu, followed by free time and overnight at our hotel.
Day 10 - BEIJING - ISTANBUL
After breakfast, we will take a tour of the Great Wall of China, a symbol of China and recognized as one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Built in the 9th century BC for military defense purposes, this wall was added to the "World Heritage List" as a symbol of China in 1987. In the afternoon, we will visit the Underground Palace of the Ming Dynasty, where the tombs of 13 of the 16 emperors of the Ming dynasty are located, and only two of these tombs have been opened. One feature of the tombs is that they are aligned according to the Feng Shui system in this valley. After dinner, we will head to the airport.
Day 11 - ISTANBUL
We will depart for Istanbul at 00:10 on Turkish Airlines flight TK21. Arrival in Istanbul at 05:30 and end of our tour.
