1. DAY ISTANBUL – MADRID
Meeting with our valued guests 3 hours before the flight time at the Pegasus Airlines counter in the international departures terminal of Sabiha Gökçen Airport. After baggage and ticket procedures, flight to Madrid on Pegasus Airlines scheduled service. After the tour, we continue on our way to Madrid. We begin our panoramic Madrid city tour with the large square called Plaza Mayor. In this square, there are 136 buildings and 437 balconies opening onto courtyards. In the past, bullfights and people burned by the Inquisition were watched from these balconies. Among the places to be seen are the heart of the city, Puerta del Sol; Plaza Mayor, the large square; Plaza de Oriente, where the Royal Palace addressed the public; the Alcalá Gate, built as an entrance gate to show how wealthy the city was; Gran Via with its arcade roofs; Plaza Colón and Cibeles Square and Fountain; and the Cervantes Monument. After the tour, we return to the hotel. Overnight at our hotel.
2. DAY MADRID
After breakfast at the hotel, free time. Then our guests may join the organized Toledo Tour. Toledo is a real open-air museum and one of the most important cities on the UNESCO World Heritage list as Spain’s former capital. Its magnificent cathedral, home to works by world-famous painters, makes it compete with some of the world’s leading museums. Known as the city of El Greco, Toledo has remained unchanged since the 16th century. Buildings bearing traces of Roman, Visigothic, Arab, Gothic, and Renaissance architecture, narrow streets, El Greco’s paintings, typical pastry shops, Damascene stores, and of course its famous cathedral make it a tourist hotspot. Another tradition in Toledo is the production of almond paste, dating back to the time when the Arabs conquered the city. You cannot consider your visit to Toledo complete without tasting this mouthwatering sweet. After a walking tour through the Jewish Quarter, we depart for Madrid. Overnight at our hotel.
3. DAY MADRID – BARCELONA
After breakfast at the hotel, we depart for Barcelona by private bus. On the way, our guests may join the Zaragoza Tour organized by our guide along the route. During the tour, the Ebro River, Pilar Cathedral, the city’s central cathedral, La Seo Cathedral, San Pablo Church, Plaza España, and Pilar Bridge will be among the places to be seen. After the tour, we continue our journey. Upon arrival, we take a panoramic Barcelona city tour. The capital of Catalonia and the second-largest city in Spain, where the magnificent works of the famous architect Antoni Gaudí are found, attracts tourists at four times its population because of its remarkable landmarks. Among the places to be seen are La Sagrada Familia, also known as the “Unfinished Church,” Spain and Catalunya Square, Gaudí’s Houses (Casa Batlló and Casa Milà), Catalonia Square, La Rambla Street, and Port Olímpic. After the city tour, transfer to the hotel. In the evening, our guests may join the Barcelona Night & Gothic Quarter Tour organized by our guide. On this tour, we will have the opportunity to see the illuminated version of Barcelona, known as Europe’s city that never sleeps. Then we head to the Gothic Quarter, which we have not visited before. In this neighborhood, after visiting Barcelona Cathedral, the Temple of Augustus, and the district’s most famous street, Carrer del Bisbe, free time for dinner. Then transfer to the hotel. Overnight at our hotel.
4. DAY BARCELONA
After breakfast at the hotel, our guests may join the Girona & Figueres & Mercat de la Boqueria Tour organized by our guide. We begin our tour with Girona, situated on the banks of the Onyar River and at first glance reminiscent of Florence, the wealthiest city in the region. A charming medieval city with narrow streets and a cathedral, Girona is also where the film adaptation of Perfume was shot. On a panoramic tour, we will see the Lion statue, Cathedral Square, the Houses with Mezuzahs, the Jewish Quarter, La Rambla, and famous shops. After free time, we head toward Figueres, accompanied by the scenery of the Pyrenees. The town has such an impressive atmosphere that it inspired the boundary-breaking artist Salvador Dalí throughout his life. Here we will visit the museum-house of the famous surrealist painter Salvador Dalí, decorated by his own hands. In this museum, where each artwork is valued in millions of dollars, we will visit the museum containing his mind-bending works, including the immortal love he portrayed, Gala, and then have free time. Afterwards, we head to the city center and La Rambla Street. Our next stop is Mercat de la Boqueria, the market located on Barcelona’s most touristic street, La Rambla. Considered Spain’s most famous shopping spot, this “mercat,” meaning “market” in Spanish, is one of the most authentic places where you can experience the country’s shopping culture and observe local habits. We provide free time here. In the evening, guests wishing to spend time in a lively atmosphere may join the Flamenco Night. Overnight at our hotel.
5. DAY BARCELONA – ISTANBUL
After breakfast, transfer to Barcelona Airport depending on flight time. After completing baggage and check-in procedures, depart for Istanbul on Pegasus Airlines scheduled service. Arrival in Istanbul and the end of our tour.
