Day 1: Istanbul – Sarajevo
İstanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport International Departure Terminal... check-in. After ticketing, baggage, and passport procedures, we depart with Pegasus Airlines flight PC291 at 09:15 to Sarajevo. Arrival in Sarajevo at 10:10. After passing passport, baggage, and customs procedures, we leave the airport for the Sarajevo tour. We start our city tour. We visit the iconic Bazaar, Baščaršija. On this cultural tour we begin with the Saray Bosna Fountain, the symbol of the Bazaar, then see Morica Han, one of the most authentic points of the city. We visit the Hüsrev Bey Mosque, related to Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent. Continuing our tour, we see the Clock Tower, the famous Fountain, and the Meeting of Cultures, which is also the site of the eternal Flame memorial. Then we have free time. Guests can also take photos of Latin Bridge where World War I began. After the tour, we have some free time.Guests can additionally join an optional tour of Travnik. (55 EUR) We depart for Travnik. Upon arrival, we visit the old castle, built during the Bosnian Kingdom and decorated during Ottoman rule. Then we see the Sulejmanije Mosque, the first Ottoman mosque in Bosnia. We walk around the city center. We visit Ivo Andrić's house, Nobel Peace Prize laureate author. After visiting this house turned museum, we visit the Blue Spring, supposedly where Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror drank water. Then we head back to Sarajevo. Transfer to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 2: Sarajevo – Konjic – Mostar – Poçitel Medjugorje (Blagaj-Kravice)
After breakfast at the hotel, we check out and depart by private bus to Mostar. Guests can additionally join an optional tour of Vrelo Bosne. (20 EUR) We visit the source of Sarajevo, Vrelo Bosne, located near Igman Mountain, home to Bosnia’s water source, with walking paths, horse-drawn carriages, and traditional cafes, the largest national park of Sarajevo. Our journey to Mostar includes breaks at some locations, approximately 2.5 hours. First, in Konjic, we visit the famous Ottoman bridge reconstructed with Turkish support, and relax by the Neretva River.
We arrive in Mostar, and on foot, we see the Mostar Bridge (built in 1557 by Mimar Hayreddin, a masterpiece of Ottoman architecture). The bridge was destroyed during the war in 1992 but was restored and reopened in 2004 with major support from Turkey. We visit the Koska Mehmed Pasha Mosque. After the tour of Mostar, we visit the Poçitel village and free time.
Guests can additionally join an optional tour of Blagaj. (20 EUR) From Mostar, we transfer to Medjugorje (or surrounding area). Guests can additionally visit Kravice Waterfalls, one of the most spectacular waterfalls in the Balkans. (35 EUR) We stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 3: Trebinje – Podgorica (Kotor-Tivat-Perast-Budva)
After breakfast at the hotel, we depart for the capital of Montenegro, Podgorica. We do a panoramic city tour of Podgorica, which developed under European influence, then transfer to our hotel. Guests can additionally join an optional tour of Kotor-Tivat-Perast-Budva. (70 EUR) Our first stop is Kotor, a small but significant city with many historical and architectural monuments. Since 1979, Kotor has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List. In our walking city tour, we see important structures reminiscent of Venice. We continue with Perast, a picturesque town by the Bay of Kotor. Our final destination is Tivat, home to Porto Montenegro, luxury yachts, and high-end cafes. Guests can relax at the cafes or walk along the shore. We then depart for Budva, where we do a panoramic tour. Afterwards, we transfer to Podgorica for the night at our hotel.
Day 4: Podgorica – Shkodra – Tirana (Lake Shkodra)
After breakfast at the hotel, guests can additionally join an optional tour with lunch at Lake Skadar. (65 EUR) The lake, also known as Lake Shkodra, is the largest lake in the Balkans. It is one of the most endangered species habitats in Europe, home to over 270 bird species including pelicans. This peaceful lake and its nature will enchant you. We have lunch near the lake and end the tour at Rijeka Crnojevica, then cross into Albania via Shkodra. We start exploring Tirana, the capital of Albania. We do a panoramic tour of Tirana, the city that has undergone rapid development, with many cultural and historical sights: Skanderbeg Square, Ethnographic Museum, Ottoman-era Ethem Bey Mosque, the Clock Tower, National History Museum, Opera House, Parliament, Prime Minister’s Office, and Presidential Palace, Mother Teresa Square, Pyramid of Tirana, and some other landmarks. After the tour, we transfer to Tirana Airport.
