1.Day Istanbul – Sevilla – Granada Meeting 3 hours before the flight in front of the Turkish Airlines check-in counters at Istanbul Airport’s International Departures terminal. After baggage, ticket, and passport procedures, departure to Sevilla at 06:55 on Turkish Airlines flight TK1297. Upon arrival at 10:45 local time, our Sevilla city tour begins. Sevilla is a city in Spain’s Andalusia region, famous for its historical and cultural richness. Located on the banks of the Guadalquivir River, during our city tour we will first visit Maria Luisa Park, which includes Plaza de España, Plaza de América, Sevilla Cathedral, the world’s third-largest cathedral (exterior view), and right next to the cathedral, the Giralda Minaret, the only remaining part of the mosque on which the cathedral was built, preserving the memory of the Umayyad State in Andalusia, and the Alcázar, the palace of the Castilian kings (exterior view). Then, passing through the Archives of the Indies, where records of all sea voyages to the American continent from the Age of Discovery until the 19th century were kept, we will reach the narrow streets of the old Santa Cruz district, known as “Old” Sevilla. At the end of our walk, after seeing Torre del Oro, also known as the Gold Tower, which is used as the central campus of Sevilla University, formerly a tobacco factory and today a naval museum, we depart for Granada. This famous structure was begun in the 13th century as a fortress and palace on the plain atop Sabika Hill overlooking Granada, and construction continued until the 15th century. Due to the red color it takes from the red soil used in its construction, it was named Alhambra, meaning “The Red.” After the tour, transfer to our hotel. An important settlement since ancient times, the city was first founded by the Iberians and later conquered by the Carthaginians and Romans. Alicante came under Arab rule in the 9th century, experiencing significant cultural and economic development; city walls and irrigation systems were built during this period. Today, Alicante’s most prominent historical landmark is Santa Bárbara Castle, built by the Arabs in the 9th century and later expanded by Christians. Bathed by the warm waters of the Mediterranean, this magnificent city offers a unique blend of history, art, culture, and entertainment. With its splendid architecture, colorful streets, delicious cuisine, and lively nightlife, Barcelona attracts millions of visitors every year. The city resembles an open-air museum decorated with the unique works of Antoni Gaudí. During our city tour, we will see La Sagrada Familia Church, the Christopher Columbus Monument, La Rambla Street, Spain and Catalunya Squares, the Bullring, and the Olympic Port. Poble Espanyol is also home to artisans working in ceramics, glass, leather, jewelry, and other handicrafts. Then we head up to Montjuïc Hill, which offers much more than a panoramic view of Barcelona. Figueres is a city located northeast of Girona and known as the birthplace of Salvador Dalí. The city is closely associated with the life and works of the famous Spanish painter Salvador Dalí. The most important tourist attraction in Figueres is the Salvador Dalí Museum. Dalí established a museum here to leave something in his birthplace and exhibit his works. Today, this museum has the largest Dalí collection and is considered Dalí’s greatest masterpiece because he designed every part of it. The museum contains more than 4,000 works created by Dalí using different techniques. After the tour, we return to Barcelona. Known as “Astigi” during the Roman period, it was an important center of the Hispania Ulterior province. The city was also an important cultural and economic center during the Umayyad period in Andalusia. Today, while walking through the streets of Écija, one can feel a historic atmosphere filled with elegant palaces, churches, and tall bell towers from the Baroque period. Especially the 18th-century Santa María and San Juan churches are among the finest examples of Baroque art. After a 1.5-hour journey, we arrive in Cordoba, where the Guadalquivir River welcomes us first. We will cross the historic Roman bridge and enter the city through the Roman gate. The city’s most magnificent structure, one of the largest mosques in the world, the Great Mosque of Cordoba, rising on 850 columns, will welcome us, and with our guide we will witness the grandeur of this magnificent work and receive fascinating information. After our tour in the Cordoba Mosque, we continue on foot, seeing the clean old streets, the old inn reflecting the elegance of Andalusian architecture, and Cordoba’s houses. After the tour, our second stop is Mijas, a charming and traditional mountain town in the Málaga province of Andalusia in southern Spain, especially famous for its whitewashed houses. Located close to the Costa del Sol coast, Mijas stands out with both sea views and historical texture. Mijas Pueblo, the historic part of the town, offers a postcard-like scene with its narrow streets, balconies decorated with flowers, and whitewashed houses typical of Andalusian architecture.
