2. DAY                  MOSCOW

After breakfast, there will be free time. Those who wish can participate in the extra Moscow Combined Tour (120€ per person) organized by our guide, which includes [Moscow Metro & Arbat Street & Novodevichy Cemetery (Nazim Hikmet)]. Our tour starts with a visit to the Novodevichy Cemetery, where our famous poet Nazim Hikmet's grave is located. We also see the graves of important figures in Russian history. Next is the metro tour; not only is it a practical way to navigate the city, but it's also a unique experience that gives a glimpse into the heart of Russian history and culture. Opened in 1935, the metro has since become one of the largest and busiest metro systems in the world, covering 268 stations throughout the city. It serves millions of passengers every day and is the busiest metro system in Europe. What makes the Moscow Metro truly unique is the architectural beauty of many of its central stations. Riding the metro is not only a quick escape from Moscow's famous traffic, but also a way to admire the city's architectural heritage, as each station has its own story to tell. Our tour continues with Arbat Street; one of Moscow's most historically significant and fascinating streets. As you walk along its cobblestone paths, you will not only navigate a physical space but also step through the layers of Russian history and culture. The lively atmosphere of the street, with a past dating back to the 19th century, has long made it a hub for artists, writers, and musicians. Charming street cafes, unique shops, and street performers contribute to the bohemian vibe, creating a space where the past and present coexist perfectly. You will also find shopping opportunities along the historic Arbat Street. After the tour, free time. In the afternoon, our first stop is Red Square. The name of Red Square comes from the Russian word "krasnaya," historically meaning both "red" and "beautiful." Today, "krasnaya" is mostly associated with the color red, but in ancient times it also meant something beautiful or magnificent. Therefore, the name of the square reflects both its striking appearance and its importance as a symbol of Russian heritage. After our stroll through Red Square, we will head to the Kremlin, which is not only the largest active fortress in Europe but also one of the strongest symbols of Russian history and authority. The word "Kremlin," which means "fortress within a city," fittingly describes its imposing walls and strategic location. Over the centuries, as Russia increased its power, the Moscow Kremlin became the epicenter of the country's political, religious, and cultural life. Today, the Kremlin is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and continues to be one of Russia's most iconic symbols. You will feel the rich history of the Kremlin closely. After the tour, return to the hotel and enjoy free time. Accommodation at our hotel.
