Italy Adventure Tour - Ajet Airlines (FCO-BGY)

Tour details
1. Day ISTANBUL – ROME We meet at the international departure terminal of Sabiha Gökçen Airport three hours before your flight. After baggage, ticket, and check-in procedures, we proceed to our flight to Rome with AJET Airlines scheduled for a chartered flight. Afterward, we transfer to our private bus waiting at the airport and depart for a panoramic city tour. Once a city shining with infinite splendor and shaped by the winds of history, Rome has hosted the grandeur of emperors, the courage of gladiators, and the highest forms of art. In this tour, we will see Castel Sant’Angelo, where Cem Sultan was imprisoned. Castel Sant’Angelo was originally built by Roman Emperor Hadrian as a mausoleum and later converted into a fortress. During the Middle Ages and Renaissance periods, it was used as a prison and papal castle. Another sight in Rome will be the Colosseum, located in the heart of the city and carrying the spirit of ancient times. In this massive arena, brave gladiators and wild animals once fought heroic battles amid the cheers of the crowds. After our Colosseum visit, we approach the Trevi Fountain, famous for the film “La Dolce Vita”, among stunning statues, where the sound of water echoes. Making a wish and tossing a coin into the fountain is said to keep the magic of Rome alive, with many returning someday. Guests who wish can join an extra Rome Monuments Tour (45€), where they will witness the oldest monument of the city, the Pantheon, and the lively Piazza Navona, a prominent baroque square, and the Trevi Fountain, believed to grant wishes to those who toss coins into it. Also included are the Spanish Steps, famous for street artists, and the Vatican (St. Peter’s Square and Basilica), the center of Catholic Christianity. In the evening, we return to our hotel for rest and free time. 2. Day ROME – (VATICAN & OUTLET – CASTEL GANDOLFO – NEMI) After breakfast, there is free time. Guests who wish can join an optional tour to Outlet and Lakes region: Vatican & Outlet – Castel Gandolfo & Nemi (75€). Castel Gandolfo, with its graceful castle rising toward the sky, seems straight out of a fairy tale where history and nature merge. The lake beneath the sky resembles a blue mirror, offering tranquility and beauty. The Papal Palace in the town center is a symbol of this fairy-tale beauty and historical grandeur, where popes have found peace and rest for centuries, with lush gardens and colorful flowers. Nemi is famous for its strawberry fields, shining like red jewels, and hosts an annual Strawberry Festival with colorful celebrations. After visiting Nemi, guests have free time for shopping at Italy’s most famous outlet centers, offering attractive shopping opportunities for locals and tourists alike, where you can find souvenirs and special items. Then, we head to the Vatican, home to the Pope, and visit St. Peter’s Square, where free time is given. In the square, the obelisk and surrounding columns are impressive; visitors can see the Apostolic Palace and the famous window where the Pope prays on Sundays. Those interested can join an optional Night Tour of Rome (35€). In the evening, return to the hotel for rest and free time. 3. Day FLORENCE After breakfast, we depart for Florence. Upon arrival, we begin our city tour of Florence, which is the birthplace and development site of the Renaissance and holds an unparalleled place in world cultural heritage. The city was a center of great advancements in art, science, and philosophy, with influential artists and scientists like Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Botticelli, and Brunelleschi working here under the patronage of the Medici family. Florence is like an open-air art gallery, divided by the Arno River, with highlights including the Ponte Vecchio bridge known for jewelers, Piazza della Signoria with its sculptures like Neptune and David, the Florence Cathedral (Santa Maria del Fiore) with its high bell tower, and the Baptistery renowned for its doors. In the evening, we return to our hotel for rest and free time. 4. The square also features a stunning marble cathedral and baptistery, showcasing medieval Italian art and architecture. After sightseeing in Pisa, we go to San Gimignano, known for its towers, initially numbering 72 and now only 14 remaining, built by wealthy families to display their power. Piazza del Duomo is the social and religious hub, with the 12th-century San Gimignano Cathedral and the Town Hall nearby. We then visit Piazza della Cisterna, a charming square with a historic well, and local shops selling crafts and ice cream at the renowned Gelateria Dondoli. Afterwards, we proceed to Siena and visit the main square, Piazza del Campo, famous for the Palio horse race held twice a year. At the center stands the Fonte Gaia fountain. The city also features its stunning Gothic Siena Cathedral, built with white and green marble. A walk through Siena’s narrow, winding streets reveals historic frescoes and old stone buildings. In the evening, we return to Florence for the night and free time. 5. Day FLORENCE – VENICE After breakfast, we head to Venice.
