Day 1 Istanbul - Bari (Matera Tour) Meet in front of Turkish Airlines counter at Istanbul Airport International Departures terminal. After baggage and ticket procedures, depart with Turkish Airlines scheduled flight to Bari. Arrive in Bari and meet your private vehicle and guide. Begin our Bari city tour, visiting places such as Basilica di San Nicola, the port, and Bari Cathedral. After the tour, transfer to your hotel, check-in, and enjoy free time. Guests interested can join an optional extra Matera tour (75€). We head to Matera, a UNESCO World Heritage site and the European Capital of Culture 2019, located in Basilicata in southern Italy. The city, known as Sassi di Matera, was carved into caves and tuf rock on both sides of Gravina canyon in prehistoric times. Its historic appearance has attracted film directors; movies like Pasolini’s "The Gospel according to Saint Matthew," Ferrara’s "Mary," Beresford’s "King David," Hardwick’s "The Nativity Story," Mel Gibson’s "The Passion of the Christ," and others have been shot here. It has also hosted films by Ferzan Özpetek. After the tour with our guide, we transfer back to the hotel for overnight stay. Day 2 Bari (Puglia Triangle Tour) After breakfast at the hotel, enjoy a free day. The final destination is Monopoli, a historic seaside town on the Adriatic coast. Here, visit Piazza Settembre in the historic center, the colorful open-air market, Monopoli Cathedral, and the bell tower. After the tour, return to the hotel for overnight stay. Day 6 Amalfi Coast – Istanbul – (Naples & Pompeii Tour) After breakfast, check-out. Those interested can join an optional half-day tour to Naples and Pompeii (125€). Visit the ancient city of Pompeii, one of the world’s most famous archaeological sites, buried by Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD and unearthed after extensive excavations beginning in 1748. After sightseeing, continue to Naples where you will explore the Royal Palace built in the 16th century, San Carlo Theatre, the Umberto I Gallery with cafes and shops, San Francesco di Paola Church inspired by the Pantheon in Rome, Plebiscito Square, and the Castel Nuovo.
