Meeting in front of the Turkish Airlines counter at Istanbul Airport's International Departures terminal 3 hours before the flight. After luggage, ticket, and passport procedures, we depart for Skopje at 07:25 on Turkish Airlines flight TK 1003. Arrival at 07:55 local time, and then we depart with our vehicle towards Matka Canyon. The canyon is famous for its prehistoric caves and many medieval monasteries. After a photo break in this popular outdoor destination and natural beauty of Macedonia, we move on to Tetovo. In Tetovo, we will visit the Alaca Mosque, an architectural masterpiece built in 1438 and restored in 1833, distinguished from other Ottoman mosques by its brightly decorated floral tiles. After our visit, we head to Bitola. During our city tour of Bitola, we will see historical Turkish Bazaar, Bedesten, Ishak Pasha Mosque, Yeni Mosque, the most prominent feature of the city silhouette, and visit the Military High School where Mustafa Kemal Atatürk graduated and the Atatürk Museum, where you will experience emotional moments. You can have your lunch during the free time in the area. After our break, we continue to Ohrid, our final destination of the day. This city, situated between high mountains and Lake Ohrid, continues to impress visitors with both its history and nature. During our walking panoramic city tour in Ohrid, we will see the city hailed by the Samuel Fortress perched like a crown above the old town, the Church of St. Sophia, the Ancient Theatre, the only Hellenistic theater surviving in North Macedonia, and many churches and monasteries from the Byzantine period. 2nd Day Ohrid – St. Naum – OhridAfter breakfast at our hotel, we set off with our private buses for the Ohrid Lake & St. Naum tour. Our first stop will be Ohrid Lake. Ohrid Lake is one of the largest and most important natural treasures of North Macedonia, located in the country's southwest. Considered one of the oldest and deepest lakes in the world, Ohrid Lake is famous for its stunning clear waters, surrounding natural beauties, and unique aquatic ecosystem with over 200 endemic species. You will have the opportunity to take unique photos during our break around the lake. After the tour, we will continue with a scenic 45-minute journey to St. Naum. Upon arrival, we will visit the St. Naum Monastery and Church, one of the most important saints in the region. The historic church within the monastery, frescoes, and other religious structures reflect the art and architectural understanding of the Middle Ages. After the tour, transfer back to our hotel. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
3rd Day Ohrid – Tirana – ShkodraAfter breakfast at our hotel and checking out of the rooms, we head to Tirana, the capital of Albania. During our panoramic city tour of Tirana, we will see the Ethem Bey Mosque, the Clock Tower, the Skanderbeg Monument and Square, among other sights. After free time, we will depart for Shkodra at the time indicated by our guide. During our city tour, we will see Ebu Bekir Mosque, Rozafa Castle, Tito Square, and the Heroic Five Monument. Afterward, transfer to our hotel and free time. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
4th Day Shkodra – St. Stefan – Budva – Kotor – TrebinjeAfter breakfast at our hotel and checking out of the rooms, we set off for Montenegro. Upon arrival at the border, after customs and passport procedures, we take a panoramic view of St. Stefan, a former fishing village turned town, challenging the years with its turquoise beaches. Then we arrive in Budva, known as a tourism center of Montenegro, with its Adriatic coastal region, well-preserved medieval walled town, sandy beaches, and vibrant nightlife. During our walking city tour, we will see the Old Town (Stari Grad) and Budva Fortress. After free time for lunch, we will move on to Kotor at the time indicated by our guide. The city is located at the deepest part of the Kotor Bay and is known for its beautiful architecture and natural setting. Here, we will explore Kotor by walking through the Old Town (Stari Grad). After our visit, we will move to the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina and, after customs procedures, transfer to our last stop in Trebinje or to our hotel in the vicinity. 5th Day Trebinje – Počitelj – Blagaj – Mostar – SarajevoAfter breakfast at our hotel and checking out of the rooms, we set off to explore the historical cities of Bosnia. First, we will visit Počitelj, known as the Turkish Village, with well-preserved historical buildings and the Počitelj Fortress built during the 16th century in the Ottoman period. Afterward, we will head to Blagaj. In this historical town, we will see the Blagaj Tekke, built in the Ottoman period on the banks of the Buna River, surrounded by towering cliffs. You will have free time here for lunch. After our break, we will arrive in Mostar after a short journey. In the city built around the Neretva River, we will explore by walking and see the Mostar Bridge, an architectural masterpiece of the Ottoman style, which is the symbol of the city. It was destroyed during conflicts at the end of 1992 but was rebuilt in 2004 with significant contributions from the Republic of Turkey. Our tour will also include the Koski Mehmed Pasha Mosque. Afterward, we will head to Sarajevo. Sarajevo, the capital and largest city of Bosnia and Herzegovina, holds significant importance in the Balkans. The city serves as a meeting point for Roman Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, and Ottoman peoples in the west, east, and south, respectively. Throughout its history, the city exemplified the clash of civilizations while also embodying hope for peace with its multiculturalism and tolerance. The city is known for its religious diversity, where Muslims, Christians of various denominations, and Jews have coexisted for centuries. The city's rich historical diversity reflects in its architecture, with some points resembling a Central European city while a few blocks away, one can find the influences of Ottoman or Soviet-style socialist modernism. Upon arrival, we will begin our walking city tour, where we will see the Vijecnica (National Library), built as a municipality during the Austro-Hungarian Empire but now serving as a national library, the surprising story of Inat Kuca, the Bosna River, the Latin Bridge preserved from the Ottoman period, and the spot where the archduke of Austria-Hungary was shot, igniting World War I. We will also pass through the old cobbled streets, the traditional bazaars, and the historic mosques of Sarajevo's old town, known for its historical significance. You may hear the call to prayer while passing by a church or a synagogue. Notable sights will include the Sebilj Fountain and Pigeon Square, the historic clock tower, the Sacred Heart Cathedral, and the only preserved Ottoman caravanserai from the Ottoman period, Morica Han. We will conclude our tour by visiting the Eternal Flame (Vjecna Vatra), dedicated to the military and civilian casualties who liberated Sarajevo in World War II. This monument is made of tiles in the colors of the former Yugoslav flag (blue, white, and red) and features an eternal flame contained in a copper bowl shaped like a laurel wreath. 6th Day Sarajevo – BelgradeAfter breakfast at our hotel and checking out of the rooms, we set off for Belgrade. Upon our arrival, we start our panoramic city tour. During our panoramic tour, we will see the daily life of the city, important buildings, and the deliberately left bombed Ministry of Internal Affairs building by NATO. The tour continues with a walking tour where we will see Flag Mosque, Belgrade Fortress, Damat Ali Pasha Tomb, Clock Tower, Sokollu Mehmed Pasha Fountain, Military Museum, Istanbul Gate, Dungeon Gate, Leopold's Gate, the Stefan Lazarević Monument, Nebojsa Tower, Fortress Square, the Saborna Church, Republic Square, Terazije Square, and Stone Square. We conclude our city tour with a walk down Knez Mihajlova Street, known as the heart of the city. You will have free time until the meeting time indicated by our guide for shopping or enjoying the cafés on the street. At the designated time, transfer to our hotel. 7th Day Belgrade – SkopjeAfter breakfast at our hotel and checking out of the rooms, we depart for Skopje. This city on the banks of the Vardar River bears many historical mosques, bazaars, and inns, influenced by the Ottoman Empire. Upon arrival, we will begin our city tour of Skopje, seeing Mustafa Pasha Mosque, Isa Bey Mosque, and Kapan Han, the Turkish Bazaar, Skopje City Park, the symbolic Stone Bridge over the Vardar River, and Macedonia Square. Free time at Macedonia Square until the time indicated by our guide. Afterward, we move to our hotel. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
8th Day Skopje – Prizren – Pristina – IstanbulAfter breakfast at our hotel and checking out of the rooms, we set off for the Republic of Kosovo. After customs and passport procedures, we arrive in Prizren. In this city stretching between the foothills of the greenery-covered Shara Mountains and divided by the Lumbardh River, we will see the Sinan Pasha Mosque, the main square called Shadervan, Prizren Hammam, the Flag Mosque, and Halveti Teke. After our tour, we will move on to Pristina, the youngest capital of Europe. We will see Germia Park, the Kosovo National Museum, Yasar Pasha Mosque, the historic Clock Tower, and the tomb of Sultan Murad, who died in the 1st Kosovo War. After the tour, we will transfer to the airport at the time indicated by our guide. After baggage, ticket, and passport procedures, we will depart for Istanbul at 20:25 on Turkish Airlines flight TK 1020. Arrival in Istanbul at 23:15 local time, marking the end of our tour.
