Life and Brief Information on Cruise Ships
Cruise ships are equipped with the latest technology, and we can think of them as floating deluxe hotels. You can follow the daily activity program, which outlines the activities planned for each day, from the cruise newspaper distributed to your cabin the evening before. This bulletin contains all the information about what will happen that day, including activities, weather forecast, ports of call, reservation contact details for special restaurants or spa, and other relevant details. The most common language on the ship is English. If you are on a guided program in Turkish, your guide will assist you with all matters from the ship's bulletins to restaurant menus, and will prepare special reports for you.
When boarding the ship, you need to complete your luggage, passport delivery, and credit card information (for deposits related to possible expenses) at the check-in desk located at the entrance of the ship. Your passport will be given to you at the start of the trip and will be returned to you only at the end. After submitting your passport to the ship, you will be given a Boarding-Card. This card serves as your passport, your cabin key, and is used for all transactions aboard the ship. The Boarding-Card contains your name, surname, cabin number, dining session, and other information.
There is a dress code for passengers on the cruise. The ship hosts special events such as the captain’s welcome dinner and gala night, so we kindly ask you to bring elegant and formal clothing. You can follow these events and special organization activities via the initial ship newspaper, which also specifies the dress code.
Cruise ships have buffets available 20 hours a day, where you can eat at any time. In addition to the main restaurant included in your fee for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, there are fast food points and open buffets. The ship also has special themed restaurants, such as Thai and steakhouse. You can make reservations in advance for these restaurants and enjoy specially prepared dishes by renowned chefs. These thematic restaurants are subject to extra charges.
Cruise ships offer many amenities and activities for families with children. Onboard, there are children’s pools and playrooms where kids can spend their time.
Cruise ships are designed by engineers to prevent rocking during travel, and the captains are specially trained. Smoking is prohibited in all indoor areas of the ship, including your cabin. There are no signs restricting smoking on open decks; you can smoke only in designated areas with ashtrays. There are doctors and nurses onboard. Ships also have accessible cabins for disabled passengers.
