Living on Cruise Ships and Short Information
Cruise ships are equipped with the latest technology, and we can consider them as floating deluxe hotels. You can follow the daily program of activities planned on the ship from the ship's newspaper, which is distributed to your cabin each evening before. This bulletin provides all information about the activities on the ship, weather forecast, port visits, special restaurant or spa reservation contact details, and an overall guide to what will happen on that day. The most common language on the ship is English. If you are on a guided tour in Turkish, our guide will assist you with everything from the ship’s bulletins to restaurant menus and will prepare special bulletins for you.
At boarding, you need to check in your luggage, passport, and credit card details (a deposit will be made for possible expenses) at the check-in counter located on the entrance of the ship. After your passport is handed over at the start of the trip, it will only be returned at the end. Once you deposit your passport, the ship will give you a Boarding-Card. This card serves as your passport, cabin key, and for all transactions on the ship. The Boarding-Card displays your name, cabin number, dining session preferences, and other details.
There is a dress code for passengers on the cruise ship. Since the ship hosts welcome dinners and gala nights as special events, we kindly advise you to bring formal and classic wear. You can follow the organization and special events such as the gala night and welcome dinner through the ship’s bulletin, which also specifies the dress code.
On cruise ships, there are buffet restaurants available 20 hours a day, where you can eat at any time. In addition to the main restaurant included in your fare for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, there are fast food outlets and open buffets. The ship also features themed restaurants such as Thai and Steakhouse. You can make reservations in advance for these special restaurants and enjoy dishes prepared by professional chefs. Thematic restaurants generally have extra charges.
There are many facilities and activities on the ship for families with children. The ship has children’s pools and playclubs where kids can spend their time.
Cruise ships are designed by engineers to prevent rocking during travel, and the captains are specially trained. Smoking is prohibited in all indoor areas, including cabins. There are no signs indicating that smoking is banned on open decks, and you can smoke where ashtrays are provided. There are doctors and nurses on board. The ship has accessible cabins for disabled passengers.
