In the north of Serbia, we first visit the capital of the Voivodina Region , Novi Sad. At the fortress, we take a photo break to admire the stunning views of Novi Sad. After that, we head to the city center of Novi Sad. In this city, where Albert Einstein also lived for some time, we will take a walking tour during which we will see Freedom Square, Svetozar Miletić Statue, the Catholic Cathedral, Orthodox Saint George Cathedral, Saint Nicholas Church, and the Synagogue among panoramic sights. After our tour, we set off to visit Sremski Karlovci (Karlofça), which has a significant place in our history. With a history dating back to 7000 BC, this town has always held an importance historically. This town once housed the first Serbian middle school and higher education institution.
3. DAY BELGRADEAfter breakfast at our hotel, guests wishing to do so can join the extra trip to Nikola Tesla Museum & Tito’s Memorial Tomb and Zemun.
Nikola Tesla Museum & Tito’s Memorial Tomb & Zemun Tour - (70 Euro per person)
In this tour, we first go to the Nikola Tesla Museum, dedicated to the inventor of alternating current, Serbian-born scientist Nikola Tesla, established in 1952. In this museum, over 160 thousand original documents, more than 2 thousand books and magazines, and numerous photographs, drawings, plans, and tools that narrate Tesla’s work and life are exhibited. Additionally, interactive demonstrations are held in the museum to emphasize the scientist's contributions to technology. After this, we visit the tomb of former Yugoslav President Josip Broz Tito, elected as the President of Yugoslavia on January 13, 1953, and who turned Yugoslavia into a Federal Socialist Republic, re-elected for life in 1974 and who died in 1980. The memorial tomb is located in the midst of a single-story building known as the House of Flowers, containing a white sarcophagus. Here, some of Tito's personal belongings are also exhibited. Finally, we are off to Zemun. This city, which has remained autonomous throughout its history and is now part of New Belgrade, feels like a separate city within the city. Located by the banks of the Danube River, across from Belgrade Fortress, Zemun is home to Usce Fortress, Gordoš Hill, and Gordoš Tower. Architecturally carrying Austrian traces, the area has charming cobblestone streets and narrow alleys where you can enjoy your time. Historically a fishermen's settlement, today Zemun has its fishing huts restored and turned into restaurants. After our tour, we provide free time before returning to our hotel.
