2. DAY BELGRADE

After having breakfast at our hotel in the morning, guests who wish can participate in the full-day Karlovci & Novi Sad tour, which will be organized extra.

Karlofça & Novi Sad Tour - (75 Euro per Person)

In the north of Serbia, we first visit the Petrovaradin Fortress in the capital of the Vojvodina province. After a photo break with the magnificent view of Novi Sad from the fortress, we arrive at the center of Novi Sad. In the city where Albert Einstein once lived, we will have a walking tour where we will see Freedom Square, Svetozar Miletić Statue, Catholic Cathedral, Orthodox St. George Cathedral, St. Nicholas Church, and the Synagogue. After our tour, we will visit Sremski Karlovci (Karlofça), which has an important place in our history.  This town has a history dating back to 7000 B.C. and has always been significant throughout history. The town is notable for being the site of the first Serbian middle school and faculty. Until 1922, it was also the center of the Serbian Orthodox Church. In the town, we will see the city council, Catholic Church, and the Dört Aslan Fountain. The town is significant historically for being the location of the 1699 Karlovac Treaty, which is recognized as the beginning of the decline of the Ottoman Empire and the first significant loss of territory. We will also visit the Chapel of Peace where the treaty was signed. After the free time here, we end our tour.

3. DAY BELGRADE

After having breakfast at our hotel in the morning, guests who wish can participate in the extra organized Nikola Tesla Museum & Tito’s Memorial and Zemun tour.

  • Nikola Tesla Museum & Tito’s Memorial & Zemun Tour - (70 Euro per Person)

In this tour, we first go to the Nikola Tesla Museum. The Nikola Tesla Museum, dedicated to the inventor of alternating current, Serbian scientist Nikola Tesla, was founded in 1952. This museum exhibits over 160,000 original documents related to Tesla’s work and life, more than 2,000 books and magazines, as well as numerous photographs, drawings, and plans. There are also interactive displays to highlight the scientist's contributions to technology.. After that, we visit the grave of Josip Broz Tito, who was elected President of Yugoslavia on January 13, 1953, turned Yugoslavia into a Socialist Federal Republic, and was made president for life in 1974 until his death in 1980. The memorial, located in the middle of a single-story building called the house of flowers, contains a white tomb. Here, we also exhibit some of Tito’s personal belongings and highlights from his life. Finally, we set off for Zemun. Historically autonomous and now part of the New Belgrade section, Zemun feels like a different city within Belgrade. Located on the banks of the Danube River facing Belgrade Fortress, this city is home to Usce Fortress, Gardosh Hill, and Gardosh Tower. The area has Austrian architectural influences, narrow cobblestone streets, making it a pleasant place to spend time. Zemun was once a place for fishermen. Today, the fisherman’s docks have been restored and turned into restaurants. After our tour, we will have free time. Then we transfer back to the hotel.
