01. DAY: ISTANBUL AIRPORT – BARI
Meeting with our valued guests at 15:30 in front of THY international departures F counter (counters 1–27) by entering through Gate 3 at Istanbul Airport, followed by check-in procedures. Departure to Bari at 18:20 on THY flight TK1465. Arrival at Bari Karol Wojtyła Airport at 19:30 local time. After arrival, transfer to our hotel by our private vehicle waiting for us. After check-in procedures, room allocation. Overnight at our hotel.
02. DAY: BARI – POLIGNANO A MARE – BARI
After breakfast at the hotel, we depart by private vehicle to Bari city center. Bari is the administrative center of the Puglia region and one of Italy’s 20 administrative regions, a historic port city on the Adriatic Sea coast. With a population of 1.3 million, it is the third largest city in Southern Italy. During our panoramic tour in Bari, we will see the Old Town (Vecchia Bari), San Nicola Basilica (11th century), dedicated to Saint Nicholas from Demre, Antalya, Teatro Petruzzelli, the largest private opera house in Europe, the city hall Palazzo di Città, the provincial government building Il Palazzo della Provincia, and the seafront avenue Lungomare di Bari.
After the tour, we head to Polignano a Mare. Polignano is known as the “Pearl of the Adriatic” with its deep blue sea, whitewashed houses, and natural beaches carved into the cliffs. It is an enchanting town with poetic streets and views. It is also the birthplace of Domenico Modugno, famous for the song “Volare.”
After the Polignano tour, we return to our hotel in Bari. Overnight at our hotel.
03. DAY: ALBEROBELLO – MONOPOLI – BARI
After breakfast, we depart at the time previously announced by our guide for our full-day excursion. We head to Alberobello, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage list. In this town famous for its traditional cone-roofed stone houses known as trulli, we will take a historical walk. Trullo Sovrano and the Trulli Museum are among the places to be seen.
After the tour, we continue to Monopoli on the Adriatic coast. In Monopoli, a typical southern town with its harbor, fishing boats, small squares, and colorful houses lining the seafront, we will have a short walk and free time before returning to Bari. Overnight at our hotel.
04. DAY: MATERA – LECCE – BARI
After breakfast at the hotel, we begin our full-day excursion. Our first stop is Matera. We walk through the Sassi district, protected by UNESCO, with its cave dwellings and rock churches carved into the rocks. Matera is one of the most impressive historic settlements in Southern Italy.
Then we head to Lecce. In Lecce, known as the “Florence of the South,” Santa Croce Basilica, Sant’Oronzo Square, and the Roman-era amphitheater will be seen panoramically.
After the tour, we return to our hotel in Bari and overnight at our hotel.
05. DAY: BARI – ISTANBUL AIRPORT
After breakfast at the hotel, check-out from the rooms and transfer to the airport at the time indicated by our guide. After ticketing and baggage procedures, departure to Istanbul at 09:35 on Turkish Airlines flight TK1446. Arrival in Istanbul at 13:45 local time and end of the tour.
