01. DAY: ISTANBUL AIRPORT – BARI
Meeting with our valued guests at 15:30 in front of Turkish Airlines’ international departures F counters (counters 1–27) by entering through Gate 3 at Istanbul Airport, and check-in procedures. Departure to Bari at 18:20 on Turkish Airlines flight TK1465. Arrival at Bari Karol Wojtyła Airport at 19:30 local time. After arrival, transfer to our hotel by our private vehicle waiting for us. After check-in procedures, room accommodation. Overnight at the hotel.
02. DAY: BARI – POLIGNANO A MARE – BARI
After breakfast at the hotel, we depart by private vehicle to Bari city center. Bari is a historic port city on the Adriatic coast, the administrative center of the Puglia region, one of Italy’s 20 administrative regions. With a population of 1.3 million, it is the third-largest city in Southern Italy. On our panoramic tour of Bari, the places to be seen include the Old Town (Vecchia Bari), the San Nicola Basilica (11th century), dedicated to St. Nicholas of Demre in Antalya, the Teatro Petruzzelli, Europe’s largest private opera house, Palazzo di Città, the city hall, Il Palazzo della Provincia, the government building, and Lungomare di Bari, the waterfront avenue.
After the tour, we depart for Polignano a Mare. Polignano is known as the “Pearl of the Adriatic” with its deep blue sea, whitewashed houses, and natural beaches carved into the cliffs. It is a charming town with poetic streets and stunning views. It is also the birthplace of Domenico Modugno, famous for the song “Volare.”
After visiting Polignano, we return to our hotel in Bari. Overnight at the hotel.
03. DAY: ALBEROBELLO – MONOPOLI – BARI
After breakfast, we begin our full-day excursion at the time previously announced by our guide. We head to Alberobello, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. In this town famous for its traditional conical-roof stone houses known as trulli, we will take a walk through history. Trullo Sovrano and the Trulli Museum are among the places to be seen.
After the tour, we continue to Monopoli on the Adriatic coast. In Monopoli, a typical southern town with its harbor, fishing boats, small squares, and colorful houses lined along the coast, we will take a short walk and enjoy free time before returning to Bari. Overnight at the hotel.
04. DAY: MATERA – LECCE – BARI
After breakfast at the hotel, we begin our full-day excursion. Our first stop is Matera. We walk through the Sassi district, protected by UNESCO, with its cave dwellings and rock churches carved into the stone. Matera is one of the most impressive historical settlements in Southern Italy.
Then we depart for Lecce. Known as the “Florence of the South,” in Lecce the Basilica of Santa Croce, Sant’Oronzo Square, and the Roman amphitheater will be seen panoramically.
After the tour, return to our hotel in Bari and overnight at the hotel.
05. DAY: BARI – ISTANBUL AIRPORT
After breakfast at the hotel, check-out from the rooms and transfer to the airport at the time specified by our guide. After ticketing and baggage procedures, departure to Istanbul at 09:35 on Turkish Airlines flight TK1446. Arrival in Istanbul at 13:45 local time and the end of our tour.
